Manuscript on paper, in various hands, of a collection of several dozen documents relating to English political history between 1620 and 1639, including letters, papers, and Parliamentary speeches. The volume contains, for example, a list titled A True Remonstrance of the Spannish Armade In This Present Yeare 1639; copies of documents pertaining to the trial of Mervin, Earle of Castlehaven for rape and sodomy, including his arraignment, confession, and execution; and a poem by Sir William Davenant titled "Mr. Davnants New-yeares guift to the Kinge 1631." Other documents include copies of speeches related to the House of Commons' Petition of Right in 1628 and a newsletter dated London 6th Decembris 1636 which notes that "Captain Smith beeing to carrie Sr John Harvey to Virginia, the black George sprung so many leakes att sea, 110 leagues out, that shee (500 passengers beeing therin) was almost foundered and is put back into one of his Majesty's ports in the narrow Seas."
